In a recently published article, Alyson Velati of Ignites covers the filing of Diamond Hill Capital Management’s first interval fund, the Diamond Hill Securitized Credit Fund. Kimberly Flynn, President at XA Investments, contributed to the article by discussing the potential benefits of the interval fund structure for Diamond Hill. The fund, which filed its initial registration statement on May 7, 2024, will focus on securitized-bond investments.
While specifics such as minimum investment and fees remain undisclosed, the fund is set to be managed by Henry Song, who also oversees Diamond Hill’s $2 billion Short-Duration Securitized Bond mutual fund. Flynn commented on Diamond Hill’s decision to enter the interval fund market and noted, “The interval-fund structure allows Diamond Hill to invest in areas of the securitized-bond marketplace that they otherwise could not in their short-duration securitized bond mutual fund.” With the launch of the interval fund, Diamond Hill aims to broaden its product offerings and expand beyond the mutual fund market, joining a growing number of traditional investment managers entering the interval fund market.
